Leoni Schlender

Leoni Schlender is pursuing a PhD at University Kassel on the interplay of stat-led and private recruitment of nurses in the case of Mexico-Germany. Using a transnational research design, she examines how the recruitment of nurses is currently organized and whose interests are (and are not) taken into account in these processes. Her research interests include (labor) migration, feminist political economy, transnational market sociology, and global political economy.

Trained in political science and sociology, she lives in her binational family in Leipzig. Alongside research and care work, she is actively involved in feminist and neighborhood-based initiatives.
