The conference on the work of the future
On September 15, 2,000 people gathered at Berlin’s Cafe Moskau and online for LABOR.A® 2026. Thank you to all speakers, participants, and our program partners!
This year, for the ninth time, LABOR.A® provided space to think forward together, and, as a strong, diverse network, develop ideas for shaping the workplaces of the future. 140 speakers and 70 partner organizations contributed to the program together with the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung.
The theme on September 15, 2026: HUMAN
How can we shape the future of work? What future scenarios can we think of? What can we do today to achieve fairness, solidarity, and good work tomorrow?
HUMAN: At LABOR.A® 2026, we consistently approached debates about transformation from the perspective of the people it affects. This is a deliberate stance against a mindset that prioritizes efficiency and profit above all else.

About LABOR.A®
LABOR.A® is the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung’s hybrid conference on the future of work. It has been held annually since 2018. Through this event, we reach approximately 2,000 people in a single day who are interested in exploring questions surrounding the future of work from a variety of perspectives. All items on the conference agenda can be experienced live at Berlin’s Cafe Moskau and online.
The goal of LABOR.A® is to engage with and advance current debates on the transformation of the world of work, explore visions of the future, and connect key stakeholders.

LABOR.A® sees itself as a collaborative project. The conference program is designed in collaboration with partner organizations from academia, labor unions, and civil society. These organizations submitted their proposed topics in response to the Hans-Böckler-Stiftung’s call for participation. Together, we stand for progressive ideas, the balance of power, and fact-based dialogue.
LABOR.A® is a platform for exchange among people who shape the diverse world of work: in companies, on platforms, as self-employed individuals, across various industries, and at different levels of the organization—in municipalities, states, at the federal level, in Europe, and globally.
