Aylin Türer is a doctoral fellow of Hans Böckler Foundation and a PhD candidate in Political Science – Global Political Economy of Labour under the Consideration of Gender Relations at the University of Kassel. Her doctoral research examines the migration of nurses from Turkey to Germany, focusing on the precarious conditions they face during migration and the labour processes. She holds an MA in Labour Policies and Globalisation from the Global Labour University, Germany (a joint programme of the Berlin School of Economics and Law and the University of Kassel), where her research focused on gender mainstreaming as a transformative strategy within the global trade union movement. Before commencing her MA studies, she gained professional experience working with local and international trade unions and civil society organisations on issues such as labour rights, gender equality, migration, and child workers.
